Goodleap Financing — Available to Any North Alabama Customer

ON-BILL FINANCING

TVA EnergyRight — $0 Down for Eligible Customers

Most homeowners in North Alabama don't know this option exists. If your electricity comes through Decatur Utilities, Athens Utilities, or Hartselle Utilities, you may qualify for TVA EnergyRight on-bill financing — a loan program through TVA and your local power company that finances qualifying energy-efficient upgrades with $0 down. The monthly payment goes right on your electric bill.

Here's the part most customers find surprising: the energy savings on a new, more efficient system partially offset the loan payment. A lot of people tell us the net change on their monthly bill was smaller than they expected. You get the comfort upgrade now and pay as you go — at a fixed rate, on the same bill you're already paying.

  • Loan terms up to 10 years. We typically set customers up on the 10-year plan, which carries a 9.99% fixed rate.
  • No application fee. It's free to apply and the credit check is a soft pull, so it won't affect your credit score.
  • Minimum credit score of 625 (VantageScore) to qualify
  • Fixed interest rate for the life of the loan. Rates vary by creditworthiness, with most falling in the range of roughly 10–13% APR.
  • Payment added to your monthly electric bill. One bill, one payment. Simple.
  • 100% paperless. The application, approval, and loan closing are all handled online.

What Qualifies for TVA Financing

TVA EnergyRight financing covers a solid list of energy efficiency upgrades:

  • Heat pumps (air source or dual fuel)
  • Ductless mini split heat pumps
  • Geothermal heat pumps
  • Central air conditioning systems
  • Heat pump water heaters
  • Insulation, air sealing, and duct sealing (when paired with a heating/cooling upgrade)

Which Customers Are Eligible?

TVA EnergyRight financing is available through participating local power companies. Not every utility in North Alabama has opted into the program yet. Right now, the participating utilities in our service area are:

  • Decatur Utilities — Decatur
  • Athens Utilities — Athens
  • Hartselle Utilities — Hartselle

If your electricity comes from one of these three utilities, you can check your eligibility right on the TVA EnergyRight website. If your power comes from a different provider like Joe Wheeler EMC, this particular financing option may not be available to you right now, but our Goodleap financing is available to anyone regardless of utility provider.
